Professional Development Program Strategic Plans

Funds are awarded annually to each state and territory in the southern region to implement their state training programs, to travel to PDP workshops and to purchase training materials. Any organization or agency in a state may apply for the annual funds, but the land-grant institutions in the state must be included as cooperators.

Photo on right shows, planners from Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands using their state strategic plans as an opportunity to exchange sustainable agriculture information and experiences. A demonstration of tilapia and lettuce production on St. Croix was part of their first joint meeting. Presenters shared information about current sustainable ag research, extension efforts and the state of agriculture from their respective territories.

Each February, all state coordinators must submit reports on the past year's activities and . plans for the future. Read the reports submitted in 2005.
